The Dirt are a trans-global collaboration between Japanese musician Sachiko and partner Jack (aka Leon the pig Farmer), a spoken word artist living in Manchester UK. They combine psych-shoegaze guitars, electronic rhythms and abrasive spoken verse to full genre-bending effect.

They released a new studio album: ‘Monkeypunch’ in August, 2025. This followed on from their first 2023 studio release ‘Agitator’, which sold out in a limited 100-vinyl press in three months and also continues to sell in CD and download formats, as the band relentlessly perform this material along with introductions to their new sounds. The album and live performances continue to turn heads and receive great comments when reviewed, with ‘Agitator’ making Louder Than War’s 100 albums of 2023 along with other online alternative music publications. ‘Monkeypunch’ has gained a Louder Than War five-star album of the week review.

Their live gigs are well received, and are described as both ‘intense’ and ‘mesmerising’, whilst also catching the eyes and ears of the press with reviews and interviews from great music media worldwide.

“A band kicking up dust and catching the attention of the underground scene. No one is doing this at the moment where repetitive drone, flirting surf and ear-splitting pedals effects leave you in a trance”

In 2025, the duo pushed further afield, leaving the comfort zones of familiar northern territories: an 11-date UK support tour with EMF took the band to another level and to some iconic UK venues. They didn’t hold back after gathering a larger following, they pushed on further and left Rockaway Beach festival in 2025 with heads turned.
