Lindsay Buckingham & Stevie Nicks – ‘Buckingham Nicks’ (Baby Blue Vinyl LP)

Nr 190925 bn

“Buckingham Nicks”, the only studio album by Lindsey Buckingham and Stevie Nicks as a duo, will be reissued for the first time on September 19th. Originally released in 1973 and unavailable for decades, the album has been sourced from the original analog master tapes for its long-awaited return to vinyl.

Released on September 5th, 1973, recorded at Sound City Studios in Los Angeles and produced by Keith Olsen, the album introduced Nicks and Buckingham’s tightly wound harmonies and sharply contrasting songwriting voices across 10 tracks — ranging from the folk-rock shimmer of “Crystal” to the sunbaked strut of “Don’t Let Me Down Again.”

In late 1974, Mick Fleetwood visited Sound City while scouting studios to record Fleetwood Mac’s next album. To showcase both his production work and the studio’s sound, Olsen blasted “Frozen Love” for Fleetwood in Studio A. The song reflected the full scope of the album’s ambition and chemistry — and immediately caught the drummer’s attention. Soon after, when Fleetwood Mac guitarist Bob Welch left the band, Fleetwood reached out to offer Buckingham the spot. Instead of agreeing, Buckingham insisted that he and Nicks were a package deal. Fleetwood agreed, and on New Year’s Eve 1974, the two officially joined Fleetwood Mac — launching one of the most celebrated chapters in the band’s history.

Lola Young – ‘I’m Only F**king Myself’ (‘The Basic B*tch Edition‘ Nude Pink Vinyl LP)

Nr 190925 ly

The return of Lola Young with this year’s massive POP album. Standard LP: Pressed on 140g “Nude Pink” vinyl, this edition comes with a 12″x12″ insert and includes the hit single “One Thing”. It’s sweet, subtle, and a little sarcastic, perfect for those days when you need to scream into the void and still look cute doing it. Call it “basic”, call it iconic, either way, it’s yours to define.

The Divine Comedy – ‘Rainy Sunday Afternoon’ (Limited Dark Green Bio Vinyl LP)

Nr 190925 dc

Recorded at Abbey Road last autumn, ‘Rainy Sunday Afternoon’ is The Divine Comedy’s thirteenth album and their first studio album since 2019’s UK top 5 ‘Office Politics’. The band’s last release was 2022’s ‘Best Of’ compilation ‘Charmed Life’ which also reached 5 in the UK album charts. The band’s Neil Hannon most recently wrote the original songs for the Warner Bros blockbuster ‘Wonka’.

Neil says: “My musical output is, for better or worse, a representation of my personality. A good chunk of that personality revels in the rumbumptious; celebrates the silly. And I made ample use of that for the Wonka songs. I have though, like everyone, a darker, more melancholy side. And for one reason or another it has been much in evidence of late. I needed to use this album as an outlet for those feelings. To work through some stuff. Mortality; memories; relationships; political and social upheaval. Everyone should get to make an orchestral pop album once in a while. It should be available on the NHS.”

Biffy Clyro – ‘Futique’ (Black Eco Vinyl LP)

Nr 190925 bc

‘Futique’ delves into our relationship with memory and what we cherish across time. As Simon Neil explains, it’s ‘an exploration of ideas, objects or relationships that exist across time – we are never aware when we do anything for the last time and there’s a beauty and sadness within that. What will be your Futique?’

Informed by reflections on the digital age’s impact on memory and the band’s own remarkable journey from teenage friends to alternative rock giants, ‘Futique’ explores the challenges and enduring connections that define them. It’s a powerfully relatable narrative from one of Britain’s most beloved bands, reminding us to appreciate what we have.

Johnny Marr – ‘Look Out Live!’ (Double Black Vinyl LP)

Nr 190925 jm

“‘Look Out Live!’ perfectly encapsulates the magic of Johnny Marr’s sold-out show at the Hammersmith Apollo, London in 2024. The night was a culmination of his 2024 Spirit Power tour and showcases his 40-year repertoire of distinctive songwriting and the guitar sound that has seen Johnny regarded as the most influential guitarist of his generation. The energy of the night can be felt through tracks from his four-album solo career such as ‘Easy Money’, ‘Armatopia’ and ‘Somewhere’ plus classic The Smiths compositions ‘This Charming Man’, ‘How Soon Is Now?’ and ‘There Is a Light That Never Goes Out’. The memorable night made exceptional by the appearance of special guest Neil Tennant who reunited with Johnny to perform ’90s supergroup ‘Electronic’s’ hit ‘Getting Away With It’ and a special one-off rendition of David Bowie’s ‘Rebel Rebel’. *Note – The CD offers additional tracks that are not on the vinyl.”
