Following Skipton being crowned the “happiest place to live in the UK”, the Sound Bar and its owner, Dave, were featured in an article from popular online newspaper, The Independent.
He mentioned that a combination of national beauty and a friendly community made Skipton special, while also saying that “we’re obviously very proud of what we do. We are a music venue and record shop and we bring a lot of people into the town.”

With lots of other pubs, cafés and independent shops in Skipton, it makes the town a great draw for tourists as well as making it a great place to live as well, Dave said.
About the fellow independent businesses of Skipton, Dave added: “with it having quite a small population, it’s good that the town is so nice, so we get a lot of tourism and that really supports the high street.”
The Sound Bar is proud to be a part of what makes Skipton the happiest place to live in the UK, while also being a member of the Music Venues Alliance.
