Welcoming them back to the Sound Bar, The 1960 Four (formerly ‘The Big Bang’) are a four-piece, classic sixties covers band from West Yorkshire. The 1960 Four encompass their love & interpretation of the best of sixties music with inspiration from the likes of Small Faces, The Who, & The Kinks.

Soul on Wednesday – Halifax Soul Crew
Wednesday’s afternoons are becoming part of the Soul calendar in the North. With successful events in many towns across our region. On the back of our weekenders we hope to get Skipton firmly on the Wednesday map. Hosted by The Halifax Soul Crew on the 1st Wednesday of every month, from 2pm to 7pm.

A Simple Mind on Tour
Following the recent release of his autobiography ‘A Very Simple Mind’, Derek Forbes the bass player with Simple Minds is now on tour himself! Derek was in the band during that golden 1978 to 1985 period playing on hits that include ‘Waterfront’, ‘Promised You A Miracle’ & of course everyone’s favourite 80s song ‘Don’t You Forget About Me’.
This ticketed two hour event will consist of:
– A talk focused on his life in music followed by a Q & A session where there will be an opportunity for the audience to ask Derek questions.
– A book signing with an opportunity for members of the audience to meet Derek
– A live performance by Derek of the songs he was involved in with Simple Minds

Thundering Hearts – Live
After nearly 36 years, 3 of the original cats from The Thundering Hearts will be performing a one off gig at the Sound Bar.
Back in the day these guys supported the like of the Quireboys, Wolfsbane, Spoilt Bratz (Terrorvision) and many more. So if you recall the heady days of The Queens Hall Cellar Bar, The Wheatsheaf, The Smithy, The Frog & Toad and many of the the other ‘rock’ boozers in and around the Bradford area. Then come on down for what promises to be a great night of rock n roll antics.

Night Patrol are a lively 4-piece covers band from West Yorkshire, made up of seasoned professional musicians with over 20 years experience in the entertainment sector. This lively combo of merry men perform all the greatest chart topping hits, spanning from the 60’s to present day. Along with their flamboyant, energetic performance and quality musicianship, the band maintain a very high standard when it comes to bringing their music to the masses.

The Calls – Live
We are delighted to announce The Calls will be playing The Sound Bar on Friday Nov the 22nd.
Even though their self titled debut album has been available on vinyl for a few months, In some ways this feels like an album launch gig. The album itself is still not available on streaming services. We have sold more copies of this record than many other new releases from big name artists, So we can’t wait to hear it live.
If you’re a fan of indie bands like Ride, Slowdive, Tame Impala, My Bloody Valentine. Plus a dose of Brit Pop thrown in for good measure, then this is for you.
Records, CD’s and Merch will be available on the night.

Gaelforce – Live
Back at the Skipton Sound Bar after a packed first appearance, Gaelforce are a superb, very accomplished Celtic flavoured folk rock band. The 2023 winners of the introducing stage at the Great British Folk Festival, Butlins, Skegness by public vote in front of 3000 people. They have recently played at West Coast festival, Blackpool (formerly Great British Folk festival) and are booked in for Costa Festival in Portugal.
From the 1990s and now reformed with ex members of Mike Harding’s band, The Duncan McFarlane band and the acclaimed Rosin Ban they have a line up of fiddle, highland bagpipes, guitar, bass, drums & vocals. Playing rocked up folky, Irish, songs + jigs n reels. They also have a new album out – ‘Equinox’ available on Spotify.
